Los Angeles’ Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Takes Advantage of Daylight Saving Time
To maximize daylight hours brought by the clock change this year, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury residential solid waste convenience centers have returned their pre-storm operations on April 8, Thursday, with expanded operating hours.
The sites are open weekly from Thursday to Monday but closed from Tuesday to Wednesday. The new operating hours will start from 7:40 am to 6:30 pm. With this new schedule, residents will be able to take advantage of the daylight hours.
The drop-off sites can accept vegetation, construction, and demolition waste. This is good news for the residents because these were not allowed since the sites reopened after Hurricane Laura striked Los Angeles.
Los Angeles is not only that state to take advantage of Daylight Saving Time. Many people from other states favor this yearly tradition despite the opposing opinion of those who are against it. Daylight Saving Time is said to help states conserve energy with the additional daylight hours it brings.
