Galapagos Time Zone - GALT

Galapagos Time is six hours behind the Coordinated Universal Time standard, written as an offset of UTC - 6:00. That means to find the standard time in the zone you must subtract six hours from Coordinated Universal Time.

Territories observing the time zone are primarily in South America or the Pacific. It runs through the island of Galapagos which is actually considered part of Ecuador.

Galapagos remains on Galapagos Time all year long and does not change for Daylight Saving.

Exceptions

Even though the Galapagos Islands are considered part of Ecuador, they do not use the same time zone, instead they follow Galapagos Time or GALT and they remain on that time all year long. Therefore, Galapagos is the exception for Ecuador Time.
